Chicago designer Horacio Nieto recently presented his Spring/Summer 2010 womenswear and menswear collections during Fashion Focus Chicago 2009.
Nieto, a Texas native and winner of AOL’s 2008 Latino Fashionista online fashion competition, debuted his menswear collection, Arlo, featured a mix of modern and traditional American style. The collection included classic, casual dress shirts and trench coats in vibrant colors and neutral blazers, jackets and khaki pants and short.
His women’s line paralleled Arlo with the use of playful colors and neutrals; but was more risqué with sexy yet sophisticated short dresses suitable for work and play. Nieto stated his inspiration for the collection was an Amazon tribe with his use of textures, colors and modern elements.
A rarity in the fashion world to cater to both sexes, Nieto’s effortless executed showcase of both collections proves his talent and longevity in the industry.
