Bobby Dixon Kick off the Chicago Blues Festival at Daley Plaza
Bobby Dixon plays and sings the Blues. Bobby Dixon son of legendary Willie Dixon is a songwriter, producer and artist that has earned respect all over the world. He has performed in concert with numerous Blues artists including: Buddy Guy, Bo Diddley, B.B. King, Junior Wells, Rolling Stones, and Kinsey Report. He also has performed at some of the most prestigious Blues fests in the country: New Orleans Jazz Fest, Mexico Blues Festival, Berlin Blues Fest, South America Argentina, Onterio Fest Toronto, Long Beach Blues Fest and of course this year’s Chicago Blues Festival in Grant Park (June 11 -13). Bobby is an active member of his father's blues haven foundation that gives: scholarships to college students, distributes musical instruments to high schools and sponsors music history in U.S. grammar schools.
The Chicago Blues Festival (June 11-13) in Grant Park celebrates the life and music of Howlin’ Wolf on the centennial of his birthday with special performances and jam sessions. The internationally acclaimed and FREE admission festival is designed to celebrate and remember the blues tradition and heritage. The 3-day festival features five distinct stages that tell the story of the Blues using various Blues music styles. Daily festival hours are 11am to 9:30pm
