One Hope United Celebrates Impact Over The Years

One Hope United Celebrates Impact Over The Years With “Eras Of Hope” Event at Mercedes-Benz Chicago on April 28

For more than 100 years, Illinois-based child welfare agency One Hope United has been dedicated to empowering youth and strengthening families, and we're inviting you this April, which is Child Abuse Awareness Month, to join us in our mission to make sure every child grows up in a safe and loving environment.

As part of Child Abuse Awareness Month, also known as Blue Ribbon Month, One Hope United will highlight 117 years of service to the community with “Eras Of Hope,” an evening of awareness, fun and fashion inspired by the agency’s journey through time on April 28th, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz of Chicago (1520 W. North Ave.).

Guests can come decked out as flappers, hippies, ‘80s valley teens or take a futuristic route, or be inspired by installations from designers at Benjamin Cottrell Designs, with hair and makeup by Strange Beauty Show and Lora Michael.

As each new era is highlighted with tunes and couture, representatives from One Hope United will be highlighting the organization’s work through the years and working to encourage more people to get involved.

The Host Committee includes Benjamin Cottrell (Benjamin Cottrell Designs), Delrice Adams (Forecast for the Arts), Glenn Murray (220 Communications), Jenaeth Markaj (One Hope United), Larry James (House of Trend), Marco Foster (Chicago Models) and Sarah Vargo (Maven).

Tickets are $40 in advance or $50 at the door. The event will feature bites, beverages and dancing, with changing music from different time periods by David Fenmore.

In addition to the fun and fashion, all for an important cause, there will be a silent auction, premium goodie bags, and all attendees will receive a complimentary subscription to Chicago Magazine.

There will also be an after-party at Underground (56 W. Illinois), and all Eras attendees will have their cover charges waived. We invite you to come get to know this amazing organization and help us make an even bigger impact on Chicago-area children and families, all while having fun.
