Chicago Shines During The Art of Fashion 2012

Chicago’s fashionistas packed The Museum of Broadcast Communication on May 4th to view the latest designs from some of the city’s best designers during the third installment of StyleChicago.com’s The Art of Fashion 2012.


The part shopping event, part fashion show gave Chicagoans the chance to meet with designers, buy their wares and see their latest creations all under one roof. Attendees had the chance to shop 30 of the city’s top apparel, jewelry and accessories designers including: Brynn Capella, Anna Hovet, K. Amato, Nomadic Ant Jewelry, Mohop Shoes and others. The fashion show portion of the evening included:


Bold patterns and intricate designs from Project Runway Canada Season1 finalist Shernett Swaby. Swaby's collection is inspired by the art of origami.





Soft, flowy and colorful preppy yet contemporary chic knits from Lara Miller. Miller's collection was inspired by Spring, Pae White's 'Restless Rainbow" installation at the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago.



Classic working girl simple and sleek silhouettes from Cettina.






Sexy and sophisticated use of leather and tweed from soon to be household name Borris Powell:





and the leather, fur and floral wonders of Barbara Bates:
