The 48th Chicago International Film Festival opening night kicked off with some Hollywood A listers. The red carpet arrivals for the new film "Stand Up Guys" which was directed by Fisher Stevens. Fisher Stevens is a favorite of mine, he has moved up the ranks as a Hollywood director, but back in the 1990s he had some classic acting skills that to this day I love. Not many, but some may remember a little series that ran in the summer of 1992 on Fox TV called Keywest... Love That Show! Then Stevens played the bad guy in the movie "Hackers." Do you know who else was in that flick?... Angelina Jolie... all you computer buffs need to check it out. There are some killer scenes in the movie that are just a book out of history.
Back to the Chicago Film Fest, the opening night red carpet ceremony welcome more than just director Fisher Stevens, some of the greats of Hollywood who are in this movie and walked the carpet including: Al Pacino with girlfriend Lucila Sola, Christopher Walken with Georgianne Walken, Alan Arkin with Suzanne Newlander Arkin, Vanessa Ferlito and Addison Timlin. In addition to the film actors, Michael Kutza (festival artistic diretor), Noah Haidle (screenwriter), and Tom Rosenberg (producer) as well as others who worked on "Stand Up Guys."
