Boston blasts off on their Heaven On Earth tour
Concert Review and Photos by Anita Brodersen
On
the first day of summer 2014, the Boston fans stood in line to enter
the outdoor venue on Montrose Beach. But right before the gates opened
the dark clouds rolled in quickly and a huge rain storm hit. The crowds
ran for shelter and for a good hour it did not look promising. Then
the skies cleared, the gates opened and the show was a go! The opening
act – The Doobie Brothers – put on a stellar show singing their hits.
It was finally time for Boston and as they took stage it was great
seeing Tom Scholz
(founder/writer/musician) pumped up and ready for a
night filled of their classic hits. Lead singer Tommy DeCarlo launched
into Rock & Roll Band. Other songs performed included Peace Of
Mind, Foreplay/Long Time, Feelin’ Satisfied, Smokin’ and of course the
crowd favorite More Than A Feeling. Guitarist/Vocalist David Victor
handled lead vocals perfectly for their song Amanda. It was great seeing
Kimberley Dahme back on stage on their five month tour. Other members
are bassist Tracie Ferrie, guitarist Gary Pihl, and drummer Jeff Neal.
Over the years the band has seen members come and go, but this line-up is a must to see! Check them out as they are on a tour now and while you are at a show just close your eyes and you might just slip away into the Boston hits! For more information visit: www.bandboston.com
