An Ozzfest Favorite Flies into Chicago- Flyleaf

An Ozzfest Favorite Flies into Chicago-Flyleaf
Story and photos by Dan Locke

The only time I have seen Flyleaf. has been in large concert halls, like The House of Blues or Ozzfest. With the original lead singer departing they have enter a new journey in their performing life. It is not the same Flyleaf,  I have known and love. They are now better.

More energy and a lot more fun.  The new singer, Kristen May from the now-defunct band Vedera have shown Flyleaf.  how to reach new heights.
Vedera were not a Christian pop/Christian metal band, but they did have a Top 40 hit on the Adult Pop Charts "Satisfy". Which is something Flyleaf has never done even if they have sold millions of CDs.

On Tuesday October 21, 2014. They played a small club called The Subterranean in Chicago.  An club with holds about 300 people. And those 300 were very happy that they took the time to be at the show.

At the Subterranean they were up close and personal with the crowd.  Kristen knows how to reach out and embrace her new fans as she keeps her old ones.  She was right in the mix of the crowd, as she was singing each song,  the crowd was singing with her note by note.  I feel that Flyleaf have found the right lead singer to make their band, an better band in this new world of music and the internet.

The songs they played were

Fully Alive
Again
Set Me on Fire
Thread
Cassie
Traitor
Magnetic
Platonic
Head Underwater
Marionette
All Around Me
(with Come a Little Closer … more)
Great Love
City Kids
(sung with fan)
I'm So Sick
So I Thought

If you get the chance to check them out this upcoming year.  Just do it.
