Chicago, IL – June 3, 2015. Presented by Arte y 
Vida Chicago, the all-star world music line-up and CD release show at 
City Winery Chicago on Monday, June 29, will feature the ensemble 
“Surabhi,” led by Indian veena artist Saraswathi Ranganathan. The group 
has been performing for the past eight years, delighting audiences with 
lush rustic soundscapes of flamenco music and Afro rhythms woven into 
the rich sounds of Indian Classical ragas and embellished with blues and
 folk melodies. Performances often include both music and dance from the
 Indian, African and Spanish flamenco traditions.
The 8PM CST show at City Winery will feature an outstanding line-up from
 Chicago’s musical theater scene, including Ronnie Malley (The White 
Snake) on Arabic oud, Saraswathi Ranganathan (The Jungle Book) on veena,
 Bob Garrett (Sting’s The Last Ship) on percussion and Carlo Basile 
(Cascabel with chef Rick Bayless) on Spanish guitar.
South Indian Tabla master Dhananjay Kunte and Senegalese percussionist 
Mamadou Tama will add percussion elements to the performance with 
flamenco dancer Marisela Raymi Dalila Tapia and South Indian dancer 
Kinnari Vora adding movement to the mix. Saraswathi Ranganathan will be 
celebrating the release of a new CD at the show and, additionally, Otis 
Taylor collaborator Anne Harris will be joining in on vocals and fiddle.
 
Doors open at 6PM CST and the show is open to all ages. Ticket prices 
range from $18-$22. City Winery is located at 1200 W. Randolph Street in
 Chicago. ---
