Buford, Wyo., June 30, 2015 – Le Butcherettes are giving fans an early preview of the music from the trio’s forthcoming album, A Raw Youth (Sept. 18, Ipecac Recordings), with a stream of the song “They F**k You Over” (http://bit.ly/1LREGD6). The song premiered on Sunday via BBC Radio One’s Rock Show with Daniel Carter.
“It’s really the story of the band,” Teri Gender Bender said of the new song. “Back in Guadalajara, there was so much corruption and jealousy in the music scene. We got stabbed in the back so many times. It was about how hard it is to start a band and keep true to your vision with everyone trying to hold you back.”
The band, rounded out by drummer Chris Common and bass player Jamie Aaron, recorded the album at RLP Studios (The Morgue Portable Disaster Unit) in El Paso, Texas. Omar Rodriguez Lopez once again produced, as he has done for both previous Le Butcherettes’ releases. Guests include Iggy Pop on “La Uva” and John Frusciante on “My Half.”
