Local artists compete for $50,000 & chance to perform LIVE in Ibiza, Spain

CHICAGO – May 18, 2016 – Hard Rock is gearing up for one day of non-stop live music around the world! On Wednesday, June 1, more than 425 artists and music acts will perform live at 107 Hard Rock Cafe and Hotel locations across the globe as part of the world’s largest one-day music showcase – Hard Rock Rising. This year, three local finalists will perform at Hard Rock Cafe Chicago beginning at 9 p.m.

The local artists competing at Hard Rock Cafe Chicago on June 1 have been narrowed down from a record-breaking 10,000 entries entered via ReverbNation through a combination of online fan voting, and local Hard Rock Cafe or Hotel team nominations and include:

Graham Czach: Versatile Chicago-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist that fuses modern and progressive rock sensibilities with pop-like hooks and socially conscious message-driven music. Having played music for the last 27 years, he is an original, wildly creative, and accomplished musician, composer, upright/electric bassist, vocalist, and guitarist.

Jayme Squires: Jayme Squires writes songs about ordinary things in an unordinary way: love, family, relationships, heaven. Her perspective on the matter gives it a whole new light that will ring right into your heart. She creates a tune that will stick with you after hearing it just one time. The passion in her writing and performing is ignited by the heart of her soulful voice and unreserved love for real connection with her lyrics, her stories, and her audience.

Gatsby: Gatsby consists of five guys from the suburbs of Chicago. The group grew up together and played in bands together starting in high school, and even before that. Some went on to play in full time touring bands and travel the world, but Gatsby found themselves back home and ready to take the knowledge and talent to every place on the planet. They are a rock band with influences from all over the music world. From the heavy riffs, aggressive vocals to the soft finger picking guitar and mellow vocals, they will hit every music spot on your body.

One competitor will be selected by a panel of local judges including T.J. Sagan, Band Manager for the Grammy Nominated rock band Disturbed, plus national recording artists Nonpoint and The Taking and head of Still Breathing Management in Chicago; Matt Love, lead singer and guitarist for the band Jackpot Donnie; and Ryan Sweeney, manager of talent acquisition at City Winery.

The local Chicago winner will then advance on to be judged and evaluated by a panel of artists and music industry veterans. Together, the panel of talented and diverse judges will vote to determine who has what it takes to take home top honors. The judging panel includes:

From New York to Japan to Australia, Hard Rock Rising, in partnership with ReverbNation, saw 10,000 up-and-coming musicians register to compete for a chance to become the Hard Rock Rising champion. The global grand prize winner and four regional finalists will take home a professionally-produced music video, a 1,000 count CD/DVD pack of their latest recording from Bison Disc and a Fender Instruments prize pack. Additionally, the grand prize winner will take home $50,000 USD and an all-expenses-paid trip to perform at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza in September.
