Los Angeles indie pop quartet Saint Motel are wasting no time getting back on the road in support of the new LP saintmotelevision (out now on Elektra).
Having just wrapped a successful run of European headline shows, the band launch a30+ date North American Tour with Panic! At The Disco tonight Friday, February 24th, including sold-out shows at NYC’s Madison Square Garden (March 2nd) and The Forum in Los Angeles (March 28th). A full list of dates can be found below.
Saint Motel return to NBC’s “Today” Show next Thursday March 2nd, performing the new single “Born Again” prior to their debut appearance at Madison Square Garden later that evening. One of saintmotelevision’s most enigmatic moments, “Born Again” shows the depth of range on the band’s latest record, which also features hit lead single “Move”
A psych-rock-tinged dancefloor anthem, “Move” hit the airwaves in earnest upon release shooting to #1 at Sirius/XM’s Alt Nation, Top 20 at Alternative and Top 5 at Triple A at radio while drawing wide praise from fans and press. Spin calls the track “the real highlight [of the live show], a jazzy, Philadelphia-soul inspired track”); and when the band debuted the song last summer at Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, the song inspired crowds to shout along despite not knowing the lyrics.
Following the upcoming tour with Panic! At The Disco, Saint Motel play select 2017 summer festivals including Governor’s Ball, Shaky Knees, Bottlerock and more. A full list of dates can be found here and below.
saintmotelevision was recorded earlier this year in Los Angeles with production from the likes of Lars Stalfors (Cold War Kids) and Tim Pagnotta (Walk The Moon) among others along with the band’s own A/J Jackson. The album’s infectious lead single “Move” entered the Top 25 at Alternative after going #1 on Sirius/XM’s Alt Nation and went Top 5 at Triple A. The song is joined by a remarkable “virtualizer” created by the band to go far beyond the standard companion visualizer or lyric video. By combining 360° animation and virtual reality technology, the “Move” virtualizer offers fans an interactive and immersive experience on either conventional mobile devices or VR goggles. “Move” is viewable now via Saint Motel’s official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/saintmotelvideo.
saintmotelevision follows Saint Motel’s 2014 label debut EP, “MY TYPE,” featuring and the breakthrough title track. “My Type” proved a Top 5 Triple A and Top 10 Alternative radio smash here in the US, has garnered over 60 million streams on Spotify and was a top 40 favorite in Germany, Switzerland, and Italy, where it received platinum sales certification. In addition, the “My Type” companion video – directed by Saint Motel frontman A/J Jackson – has drawn more than 16 million views at the band’s official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/saintmotelvideo.
VOYEUR, Saint Motel’s independently released 2012 debut album, earned national attention via coverage on blogs and on specialty radio. Further applause came from the band’s increasingly inventive live performances, including such audio/visual extravaganzas as “The Kaleidoscopic Mind Explosion in 3D” and the annual Zombie Prom, as well as tours alongside Arctic Monkeys, Imagine Dragons, Band of Skulls and Weezer.
Saint Motel has spent much of the past year in the studio and on the road, including high-energy sets at festivals including Indio, CA’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, Dover, DE’s Firefly Music Festival, WA’s Sasquatch! Music Festival, and Manchester, TN’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. The band has also made an array of major network TV appearances including NBC’s TODAY, CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and TBS’ CONAN.
Saint Motel have toured Europe multiple times and had high profile exposure via GQ Italia, Cosmopolitan Italia, Italian Vogue and Rolling Stone, BBC1, and live appearances on X Factor (Italy) and the nationally televised 65th annual Sanremo Music Festival.
Saint Motel is: A/J Jackson (vocals), Aaron Sharp (guitar), Dak Lerdamornpong (bass), and Greg Erwin (drums).
