The Experience Hendrix Tour or should I call it How To Feel Jimi Hendrix in One Night

Chicago Theater- Chicago IL March 25 2017
By Dan Locke

The Experience Hendrix Tour has been going on it forth year.  It had tours in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017. With the last two years hitting Chicago.  In which I had a chance to experience the moment with wow we call Jimi Hendrix.

Like last year I travel from lovely West Virginia to the city of Chicago. To see one of the best guitar shows of the year.  How could you miss with a line up this:

Henri Brown
Henri Brown -  the first cousin to 1960's rock guitarist, Jimi Hendrix; the son of Pearl Brown, a jazz singer known as "Black Cultured Pearl;" a nephew to 1950's and 60's television singer and personality, Eleanor Collins who is now a member of the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame.

Ana Popovic
Ana Popovic - her phenomenal four-piece band as well as her Mo' Better Love Big Band are tirelessly touring, playing major blues, jazz and rock festivals around the world. She is endorsed by Fender, Mesa Boogie, Ovation and DR strings. Ana has shared headlining stages with B.B. King, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Robert Randolph, Jonny Lang and many others.

Dweezil Zappa
Dweezil Zappa - son of Frank Zappa

Toronzo Cannon
Toronzo Cannon - from The Chicago Way

Buddy Guy
Buddy Guy -  is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a major influence on rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan

With players like this, how could you go wrong.  They did not just play Hendrix song. They
Zakk Wylde with Jonny Lang
performed Jimi Hendrix.  They took each Hendrix song and keep it in the spirit of Jimi with a little touch of their own soul. They treated each song as a unique interaction with the audience.  And the greatest treat was you got to see the artist by themselves or with other players.  Here is the set list so you can see what you missed.
