It's been over 15 years since Super Troopers (2001) made it's debut in theaters. This weekend get ready for Super Troopers 2 hitting theaters Friday, April 20, 2018 from Fox Searchlight. From director, writer and actor Jay Chandrasekhar with his crew from the Broken Lizard. Not bad for someone who's roots are from Chicagoland. Originally Jay Chandrasekhar career path was laid out to be a physician but his gift of comedy took him in a different path, with the approval from his parents. Today we have such great comedy cult classics as Super Troopers, Beerfest, Club Dread and now Super Troopers 2. Super Troopers, the original, had a modest budget if only a few million. However the film grossed over 20 million at the box office and over 60 in home sales.
Super Troopers 2 brings up those memories of college life. All the free life and stupidity come back quick in mind. I am sure Super Troopers 2 will appeal to todays millennials and older. In Super Troopers 2 the troopers will take over a Royal Canadian Mounted Police unit. This brings back memories of the film Canadian Bacon.
Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske are the Broken Lizard troupe. Broken Lizard is the team that brings us these cult classics. They colloborate together on the writing, productions and all aspects of the films. attended the Chicago Premiere of Super Troopers 2 at the AMC River East 21 this past Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in Chicago.
The Chicago Red Carpet arrivals for Super Troopers were held at Chicago's AMC River East 21 Theatre. Chicago welcomed very own Jay Chandrasekhar with his fellow cast of Kevin Heffernan, Erik Stolhanske, Steve Lemme and Paul Soter. In addition, Pamela Horton who is in the film made an appearance with model Beth Williams.
