On Saturday night (9/8), Chicago-natives Fall Out Boy performed the biggest show of their career at their iconic hometown venue Wrigley Field as part of their headline arena 2018 MANIA Tour.
The field saw a full house of fans all watching the band play one of their biggest U.S. tour dates in their career. The crowd went wild over the set that included a song off their Chicago homage Lake Effect Kid EP and career spanning hits such as “Dance, Dance,” “Centuries” as well as pyrotechnics and fireworks. Of the show, the Chicago Sun Times hailed, “...this was a hometown show like no other: For a punk band that began in the northern suburbs nearly 20 years ago, headlining Chicago’s most hallowed stadium was a sort of coronation.”
Staying true to their hometown roots surrounding their show at Wrigley, Fall Out Boy has also made a donation from their Fall Out Boy Fund to Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo's Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, whose mission is to raise money for cancer research and to provide support to children and their families battling the disease.
In addition, Fall Out Boy brought the (completely sold out) MANIA Experience to their hometown, which celebrates the collaborative mindset of the creative climate through the lens of the band’s latest #1 album, M A N I A. It showcases the pooled efforts of artists, producers and brands set in Fall Out Boy's hometown of Chicago. The experience brought the M A N I A album to life through an immersive installation of 12 activations, creating an environment that demands attendees attention and pulls them into the present moment
