With the belief that the best way to learn music is to play music, JBTV and the Chicago School of Rock have collaborated to take students from the lesson room to the stage. Tomorrow, March 20th, Oscar & Grammy award-winning songwriter, performer, and musician Damon Ranger will perform a live concert with children from the School of Rock at JBTV. With just one rehearsal under their belts, the accomplished musician is leading the band of young student musicians through a performance of his original work and some classic songs that have influenced his career.
An accomplished award winning musician, songwriter and television/radio personality, Damon has won several awards for his song writing and musical collaborations. Some of his most notable awards include a Grammy Award for songwriting contributions with Kanye West for Record of the Year, an Academy Award OSCAR for his writing contributions to Best Original Score Life of Pi, an MTV Video Music Award for his work on the Smashing Pumpkins ‘Tonight’ video, along with numerous Emmy Awards and nominations.
