North Coast Music Festival Coming to Chicago

North Coast Music Festival (NCMF) is thrilled to announce the lineup for this year’s festival, which takes place during Labor Day Weekend from Friday, September 4th through Sunday, September 6th.  Featuring three consecutive days of hip-hop, jam, indie, rock, R&B, electronic beats, and everything in between, each year North Coast transforms Chicago’s historic Union Park into a massive party for Coasties to indulge in Summer’s Last Stand.

For the 6th annual year, NCMF brings together a more diverse range of genres than ever before, and continues the tradition of pushing emerging artists to the forefront while appealing it’s broad musical scope to an equally diverse crowd.  Returning headliners THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS are back this year after closing the inaugural NCMF in 2010. Additional 2015 headliners include R&B starD’ANGELO AND THE VANGUARD, who is riding high off the release of his first album in fourteen years.
The eclectic lineup features a wide range of artists including The Roots, Wale, Shpongle (Simon Posford), Atmosphere, Porter Robinson, The Glitch Mob, Chromeo, Portugal. The Man, Booka Shade, RAC, Nahko & Medicine for the People, supergroup Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, and an exciting performance from New Orleans’ premiere funk band Galactic joined by Macy Gray, plus more.

The Disco Biscuits, Steve Aoki, Knife Party, Dirty Dozen Brass Band are among the artists who return to play the festival, along with Gramatik’s Lowtemp labelmates Exmag, who made their debut performance during NCMF 2013.  Local favorites returning this year include Chicago house legendGreen Velvet, Future Rock, who will be performing for the sixth year in a row, Chicago’s resident DJZebo, along with up-and-coming acts like electronic jam producer Manic Focus, jazz and soul singerLili K, rising alternative rapper Skizzy Mars, and blues-infused funk bands like The Heard, The O’My’s, and The Main Squeeze.

This year NCMF will be bringing back the popular Silent Disco, as well as the “Living Gallery”presented by Elder Tree graffiti area.  The music doesn’t stop when the festival hours end, as North Coast hosts a variety of after parties around Chicago at some of the city’s finest venues.  After parties will be announced as the festival approaches, and tickets holders will have the opportunity to purchase tickets in advance to the after parties before the general public.
