Young Musicians Connect with Industry Professionals and Perform on the Legendary House of Blues Chicago Stage
Music Forward Foundation (Music Forward) is a national nonprofit that invites and empowers young people to enter the music industry and enrich it with a diversity of voices both on and off the stage. Focusing on young people ages 12-22 in under-represented communities, we set the stage for success by providing workshops and showcases to kick-start musical careers, and inspire the next generation of music industry leaders and innovators by bridging community and industry to generate a more vibrant and inclusive workforce pipeline.
Bringing Down the House is an incubator for emerging young musicians. Mentored throughout the program by leading industry insiders, 13-19-year-old artists learn music business strategies and develop knowledge and confidence for a career in the industry. This pipeline program provides a month-long series of interactive workshops where participants connect directly with industry experts who hail from companies like Live Nation, The Marketing Arm, ReverbNation and more. Following the intensive workshops, artists get the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned and perform live on a legendary stage.
The live showcase will feature performances by local young artists of various musical genres including blues, rock, hip hop, jazz, R&B and more. The 2018 line-up at House of Blues includes:
- Adem Dalipi
- B.O.A.R.D.
- Jack Romero & The Genies
- KingTrey
- Noiramad
- TIOTE
The shows are free and open to all ages. Free tickets are available from the participating bands, online at www.houseofblues.com/chicago as well as at the box office on the day of the showcase.
